Scott Hatcher holds a BA in Music/History from St. FX University and an MSc in Geography from Memorial University under the supervision of Don Forbes (Geological Survey of Canada). The MSc work was partially funded by the C-Change ICURA, and was involved in coastal adaptation planning in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada. It specifically investigated the unique challenges faced by an Arctic urban centre located in a macrotidal embayment under rapidly changing climatic conditions. Grounded primarily in coastal geomorphology, Scott aims to continue multidisciplinary work that moves beyond applied science. This might be the only answer to the questions posed by goals of sustainability under anthropogenic climate change.
